INSTALLATION

How long does it take to schedule a job after a decision has been made?

We can usually schedule the installation of your flooring within a few days of getting the go-ahead. Often we are asked to install flooring the same or next day, and if possible, we will accommodate such requests. If it is necessary to “back-order” the material or bring the material in from the mill, this will naturally add a few days to the process.

What are the typical hours of installation and how long does it take?

We prefer to install the jobs Monday thru Friday between the hours of 8-5pm, although other days and times can be arranged as needed. Most jobs can be completed in one working day, but bigger jobs will of course require more time.

What should I expect on the installation day?

You can expect our crew to arrive in an “A-1” company truck between 8-9am. Before we arrive it would be helpful if all loose and small personal items were removed from the affected rooms so as to make sure nothing is misplaced. It is not necessary to move anything large or heavy ahead of time. Our men will handle all the moving of the large pieces of furniture and appliances (i.e. stoves, refrigerators, washers, dryers, toilets). It is not necessary to call a plumber or any other tradesman for this, as we are more than capable of professionally moving and reinstalling these items.

How many men will work on the job?

The size and type of job will determine how many men are assigned to your job. The typical job requires tow or three men to complete. We will not leave your home unattended during the workday. If other materials or a trip for lunch is needed, then only one man would leave with the truck.

Do I need to be home for the installation?

It isn’t necessary for the homeowner to remain home all day or even  most of the day. Typically, customers leave for work shortly after the men arrive in the morning or prior instructions are given regarding entry to the premises.

What about cleanup?

After completing the job we will thoroughly clean up the rooms and floors we have worked in and take away all the debris and old flooring from the day’s work. We will go over the job with you, answer any questions you may have, and make sure you are clear as to the recommended cleaning procedures.
